Built by the people who live here

Nest is a co-living space for 21 people at Reventlowsgade 10, shaped entirely by its residents.

There’s no external operator, no predefined playbook. Instead, everything is continuously created and maintained by the people who call it home. From how decisions are made to how spaces are used, Nest evolves with each new group of Nesters.

Responsibility is shared, but so is ownership. Everyone contributes in their own way — whether that’s organising, improving, initiating, or simply showing up.

Life at Nest isn’t something you simply move into — it’s something you become part of.

It’s in the small, everyday moments: someone cooking while others gather around, conversations that stretch late into the night, plans that start casually and somehow turn into traditions. It’s a home where things happen naturally, because people are genuinely invested in being part of it.

There’s a rhythm to it. Sometimes calm, sometimes chaotic — but never static.

Our Story

Nest didn’t start as a place — it started as an idea that 21 entrepreneurs could live together to share their lives, ideas, and creativity. Nest has since evolved and has become open to people regardless of whether they run a company or not.

However, Nest was originally also built on the idea that living together could be more intentional. More open. More human. That a home could be shaped not just by walls and rooms, but by the people inside it and what they choose to build together.

That is still what Nest is today.

A community that extends beyond the walls

Nest doesn’t end when someone moves out.

Former Nesters remain part of the wider community, often staying connected, visiting, or contributing in different ways. What’s built here tends to last — not because it’s expected, but because it happens naturally.

The result is a network that continues to grow over time, shaped by everyone who has been part of it.

How Nest works

To make all of this sustainable, Nest is organised into five circles. Each resident belongs to one of these circles.

Each circle is responsible for a core part of life at Nest — not as rigid roles, but as areas of ownership that keep everything running.

Branding shapes how Nest shows up to the outside world. Everything from the website to social media and creative projects starts here.

Finance is the economic backbone. Nesters contribute a fixed monthly amount that covers both practical needs and shared experiences. The finance circle manages budgets, expenses, reimbursements, and ensures transparency in how money flows.

Operations keeps the physical space functioning. From maintenance and improvements to communication with landlords and property managers, they make sure the home works as it should.

Recruitment is how new people become part of Nest. This circle handles applications, interviews, onboarding, and offboarding — shaping how the community evolves over time.

HappiNest focuses on the social life of Nest. They organise recurring events and create the foundation for everything from dinners to bigger traditions — while leaving plenty of space for anyone to initiate something themselves.

Shared leadership

Each circle has a head, and together they form the Steering group, led by a chair.

Steering exists to connect the dots — aligning decisions across circles and making sure Nest keeps moving forward as a whole. It’s not about control, but coordination.

Twice a year, everything resets at the General Assembly

This is where all Nesters come together to reflect, decide, and vote on important topics. Circle roles are reassigned, new heads and a chair are elected, and the direction of Nest is shaped collectively.

It’s a moment of alignment — and usually, a good dinner.

General assembly is mandatory for all residents because it’s a key part of how Nest stays transparent, democratic, and collectively driven.

FAQs

So, how does Nest work?

Nest has twenty-one residents living across four apartments. Each apartment has five to six bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully outfitted kitchen. Although you will live closely with four to five roommates, you will have a master key that enables you to go into any other apartment at any time. This is super important because it gives you access to all of Nest and let’s you easily connect with the other residents.

What is it like to live in Nest?

Nest is like a family. When you live here, you become part of a passion-driven community of like-minded people. You can look forward to great conversation over wine, outings, movie nights, fireside chats with external speakers, parties, and most importantly deep bonds with amazing people.

What is expected of a Nest resident?

Nest is not a place where you come and go without speaking to anyone. The community aspect of living, learning, helping, and working together is what makes Nest such an incredible place. For this reason, we expect you to actively contribute to Nest socially, intellectually and creatively. For example, you likely have a skill, life experience, or connection in your network that other Nesters could benefit from. Share it!

What are the Nest events?

We have a few recurring events in Nest. Every other Sunday, one flat cooks dinner for the others and we eat dinner together. Each apartment hosts gatherings whenever they want. Since everyone tends to be really busy, breaking bread at common dinner is a great way to kick back and catch up. On residents’ birthdays, all of Nest also gathers to wake them up with a song and special breakfast as a little celebration.

How old/young do I have to be to live in Nest?

As a rule of thumb, we’ll take in people that are between 24 and 36. However, if you are extremely awesome and unbelievably hungry to move in – forget this rule and make a world-class application that we can’t ignore!

Where is Nest located?

At Reventlowsgade 10, 1651 Copenhagen V. Right next to Copenhagen’s Main Central Station, Tivoli, the Copenhagen lakes and the Meatpacking District – SMACK downtown!

Can my partner move into my room with me?

No, they can’t. You can of course have people over and people staying for a few nights in your room, but you are not allowed to “live” two people in one room (there is only one CPR per room).

Will I have to do the dishes?

Every kitchen in Nest has a dishwasher. Yay! Modern technology!

Do we have access to washing machines?

Yep. There is a launderette with washing machines in the basement.

Let’s say I’m a really tidy person. Will I end up cleaning after everyone?

No, not at all. We’ve hired cleaning personnel to clean the open areas. This service is included in the rent. We also have cleaning rules in the General House Rules you get when you move in. We think it’s a must to respect the common space.

Will it be a closed house only for the people living there?

Yes and no. Nest is first and foremost a home, but also a place friends can visit and hang out, and a great location for hosting events and talks. By opening Nest events up, we get a healthy flow of great people in the building, adding to everyone’s network and increasing general inspiration.

How much will all this cost?

The rent depends on the size of your room. We have calculated the square meter price for all of Nest and divided that by how many square meters you have access to. The rent is between 5.500 and 8.000 kr. a month including rent, internet, water, electricity, cleaning, etc. There is also 3 months rent and 3 months deposit to be paid upfront. This is insurance for the community and means that when you are ready to fly the Nest, you don’t pay the last three months’ rent. Deposits are typically returned in full, minus a 75kr per month Nest contribution based on the months you have lived in Nest.
